My journey took me from chronic pain, nervous system dysregulation, and disconnection from my body to a deeper relationship with myself through breathwork, somatic healing, and self-trust.
Today I support others on that journey.
From Survival to Reconnection
For much of my life, I was driven by discipline, hard work, and the belief that if something needed doing, you simply got on with it.
My journey has taken me through many demanding environments, including the military, mining, operating heavy machinery, road transport, renovating homes, and running a cafe while raising two children.
I was always moving.
Always achieving.
Always pushing forward
Exercise was a daily commitment, work was a priority, and productivity became a way of life.
From the outside, I appeared strong, capable, and resilient.
What I didn't realize was that I had become increasingly disconnected from my own body.
Like many high achievers, I had learned how to push through discomfort, override warning signs, and keep going no matter what.
Until eventually, my body stopped me.
When Everything Changed
Following multiply workplace injuries, including lower back and neck injuries, I began experiencing chronic pain throughout my body.
What started as physical pain gradually impacted every area of my life.
I found myself navigating ongoing medical appointments, pain management treatments, medications, cortisone and steroid injections, assessments, uncertainty, and the emotional challenges that often accompany long-term injury.
I was searching for answers.
Searching for relief.
Searching for a way back to myself.
During this time, I explored many different approaches to managing my pain. Some provided temporary relief, while others left me feeling disconnected from my body and the deeper issues I was carrying beneath the surface.
The experience taught me that managing symptoms and truly healing are not always the same thing.
A Different Path to Healing
As part of my recover journey, I began exploring breathwork, breath awareness, somatic healing, and nervous-system regulation.
Initially, I was simply looking for ways to alleviate pain.
What I discovered was something much deeper.
The breath became more than a tool for pain management.
It became a doorway back into my body.
I attended breathwork retreats, participated in guided breathwork journeys, and immersed myself in understanding the connection between the nervous system, emotions, stress, trauma, and physical wellbeing.
What began as a search for relief gradually became a journey of self-discovery and transformation.
Learning to Trust Myself Again
The years following my injury were some of the most challenging of my life.
Alongside chronic pain, I experienced anxiety, depression, hopelessness, and periods of suicidal ideation.
I also faced situations where my efforts to heal and recover were questioned and misunderstood.
There were times where I felt judged for trying to help myself.
Times when I felt unseen.
Times when I doubted myself.
Yet through all of it, I remained committed to healing.
Looking back, those experiences taught me something incredibly important:
Healing is not just physical.
It is emotional.
It is mental.
It is relational.
And it requires us to rebuild trust in ourselves.
The Deeper Wound.
One of the most profound experiences of my healing journey came through breathwork.
Beneath the physical pain, I discovered a much deeper wound - a core feeling of abandonment and not being wanted.
For much of my life, I had unknowingly built survival strategies around this wound.
Achievement.
Productivity.
Pushing through.
Always being strong.
As these layers began to unravel, I started to see how that wound had influenced many areas of my life, including my relationships with my children.
This awareness brought deep grief.
But it also opened the door to something beautiful.
Through honest conversations, vulnerability, tears, and truth, I experienced deeper connection with my daughters than I had ever known before.
What I once viewed as weakness became an invitation into greater love, understanding, and connection.
White Pearl Wellness Hub
The pearl became a symbol of my journey.
Just as the pearl is formed through layers of pressure over time, healing often emerges through the challenges we face in life.
White Pearl Wellness Hub was born from the understanding that even in our most difficult seasons, transformation is possible.
Today, my passion is creating a safe, grounded, and compassionate space for others who may be experiencing chronic stress, emotional overwhelm, nervous-system dysregulation, chronic pain, or a sense of disconnection from themselves.
My approach combines, breath awareness, trauma-informed breathwork, somatic body practices, and nervous-system support to help people reconnect with themselves in a safe and supported way.
Because sometimes healing doesn't begin by pushing.
Sometimes healing begins when we finally stop long enough to listen.
And sometimes the strongest people are the ones who have spent years carrying more than anyone else can see.
